Somnath Lahiri was an Indian statesman, writer and a leader of Communist Party of India. He was a member of Constituent Assembly of India from Bengal. He was later elected as a Member of West Bengal Legislative assembly from 1957 to 1977 and also served as a minister between 1967 and 1970.
