Torres Vedras is a municipality in the Portuguese district of Lisbon, approximately 40 kilometres (25 mi) north of the capital Lisbon in the Oeste region, in the Centro of Portugal. The population as of 2011 was 83,075, in an area of 407.15 square kilometres (157.20 sq mi).

Oeste (intermunicipal community)
Comunidade Intermunicipal do Oeste is an administrative division of Portugal, located on the country's western central coast. The population in 2011 was 362,540, in an area of 2,220.16 square kilometres (857.21 sq mi). Caldas da Rainha serves as the seat of Oeste.
Headquarters of Comunidade Intermunicipal do Oeste, originally built for Associação de Municípios do Oeste. Rio Maior, whose name appeared on the façade when the photo was taken, did not join the successor entities.
