Via et veritas et vita is a Latin phrase meaning "the way and the truth and the life". The words are taken from Vulgate version of John 14, and were spoken by Jesus in reference to himself.

John 14 is the fourteenth chapter of the Gospel of John in the New Testament of the Christian Bible. It continues Jesus' discussions with his disciples in anticipation of his death and records the promised gift of the Holy Spirit. Jesus speaks individually with Thomas, Philip and Judas ; throughout this chapter, Jesus' purpose is to strengthen the faith of the apostles.
