William C. Bartholomay was a successful Chicago business executive, who made his living in the insurance industry. In November 1962 at age 34, he was the leader of a consortium who bought the Major League Baseball (MLB) Milwaukee Braves — a franchise in the organization's National League (NL) — from Lou Perini of Boston.

North Shore Country Day School
North Shore Country Day School is a selective prep school in Winnetka, Illinois. It took its current form as a coeducational school in 1919 during the Country Day School movement, though it started as the Rugby School for Boys (1893-1900) and Girton School for Girls (1900-1918).
