Daspur I is a community development block that forms an administrative division in Ghatal subdivision of Paschim Medinipur district in the Indian state of West Bengal.
Kotalpur: Pancha ratna Sridharjiu temple built in 1813, enovated.
Laoda: Nava ratna Banka Rai temple (in picture), built in 1810, with terracotta plaques, and pancha ratna Raghunath temple in a ruinous state.
Daspur: Pancha ratna Lakshmi Janardana temple (in picture) built in 1791, with rich terracotta decoration, renovated, and Ek ratna Gopinath temple, built in 1716, with rich terracotta work, state protected monument.
Dihi Baliharpur: Pancha ratna Radha Govinda temple, built in 1798, façade with rich terracotta panels, renovated.
Paschim Medinipur district
Paschim Medinipur district is one of the districts of the state of West Bengal, India. It was formed on 1 January 2002 after the partition of Midnapore into Paschim Medinipur and Purba Medinipur. On 4 April 2017, the Jhargram subdivision was upgraded o a district. GDP of West Midnapore district is 12 billion USD.
