Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute

The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute is an acting school located at 115 East 15th Street between Union Square East and Irving Place in the Union Square neighborhood of New York, New York. The school was founded by Lee Strasberg, himself a noted actor and director, in 1969 to teach and promote the techniques of method acting; the Institute has a partnership with the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, where students can study to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. The school has a location in Los Angeles, California; the Institute is under the artistic direction of Anna Strasberg, Lee Strasberg's widow. Phillips Smalley

Wendell Phillips Smalley was an American silent film director and actor. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Smalley began his career in vaudeville and acted in more than 200 films between 1910 and his death in 1939, he began directing in 1911 and made more than 300 films by 1921. Smalley was married to actress, writer and producer Lois Weber from April 29, 1904 to 1922, they met in 1904. In 1908 Smalley and Weber began working for the U. S. division of Gaumont Film Company, where Smalley was an actor, a director. He is sometimes listed as a co-director with Lois Weber, the extent of his contribution to her work is unresolved. Phillips Smalley died in 1939 and is interred next to his second wife Phyllis Lorraine Ephlin in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Hollywood Hills. AirNet Express

AirNet is an American Part 135 cargo airline based in Franklin County, Ohio, USA, near Columbus. It specializes in delivery of small packages. Banks were once their main client, transporting checks for over 300 of the country's largest banks. With the passing of the Check 21 Act, the increase in the usage of electronic banking, this has been reduced. AirNet is now focusing on time critical documents and packages, such as those required in the scientific and medical field; the main sort facility is located at Rickenbacker International Airport in Columbus. In September 2008, AirNet announced that they were moving their sort facility to Chicago, reducing the number of aircraft, redesigning their route network, their corporate headquarters remains in Columbus. Financial Air Express / PDQ was founded in 1974 by Gerald Mercer in Pontiac, MI. Jet Courier was founded at about the same time by Donald Wright in Cincinnati, OH. Jet Courier changed its name to Wright International Express in January 1985. In July 1988, these two companies merged to become US Check, headed by Gerald Mercer.

US Check acquired Air Continental of Norwalk, OH a year to become a dominant player in the cancelled check transportation industry. US Check acquired Midway Aviation of Dallas, TX, Pacific Air Charter of San Diego, CA, Express Convenience Center of Southfield and Data Air Courier of Chicago, Illinois. In order to raise additional capital and further grow the company, US Check went public in 1998 to become AirNet Systems. In 2008, AirNet Systems was purchased by Bayside Capital, which had once owned the now defunct Flight Express of Orlando, FL.
