Nelse is a small rural locality in the Bogong High Plains of Victoria, Australia. Nelse is renowned for its Mount Nelse, Edmonsons, and Johnsons Huts Walk. The 18.7-kilometer Mount Nelse and Huts Walk is popular among backpackers, birding enthusiasts, and campers, offering diverse terrain and captivating landscapes. It takes approximately 5 hours and 3 minutes to complete, with opportunities for "solitude" during quieter times of the day. The trail is best explored between November and May when the weather is favorable. Dogs are also not allowed on the trail to protect its delicate ecosystem; as Nelse is part of the Alpine National Park, with its "Zone Code" primarily being a Public Conservation and Resource Zone (PCRZ).
