Edward Winslow was one of the most influential Pilgrim leaders. He negotiated the treaty with the Wampanoags, he was the Pilgrims' representative to their financial backers in England, and served as governor of Plymouth Colony. This portrait of him is the only portrait of a Pilgrim that was painted from life. It hangs in the Pilgrim Hall Museum in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
