SPARC is a reduced instruction set computing instruction set architecture developed by Sun Microsystems and Fujitsu. Its design was influenced by the experimental Berkeley RISC system developed in the early 1980s. First developed in 1986 and released in 1987, SPARC was one of the most successful early commercial RISC systems, its success led to the introduction of similar RISC designs from a number of vendors through the 1980s and 90s; the first implementation of the original 32-bit architecture was used in Sun's Sun-4 workstation and server systems, replacing their earlier Sun-3 systems based on the Motorola 68000 series of processors. SPARC V8 added a number of improvements that were part of the SuperSPARC series of processors released in 1992. SPARC V9, released in 1993, introduced a 64-bit architecture and was first released in Sun's UltraSPARC processors in 1995. SPARC processors were used in symmetric multiprocessing and non-uniform memory access servers produced by Sun and Fujitsu, among others.
The design was turned over to the SPARC International trade group in 1989, since its architecture has been developed by its members. SPARC International is responsible for licensing and promoting the SPARC architecture, managing SPARC trademarks, providing conformance testing. SPARC International was intended to grow the SPARC architecture to create a larger ecosystem. Due to SPARC International, SPARC is open, non-proprietary and royalty-free; as of September 2017, the latest commercial high-end SPARC processors are Fujitsu's SPARC64 XII and Oracle's SPARC M8 introduced in September 2017 for its high-end servers. On Friday, September 1, 2017, after a round of layoffs that started in Oracle Labs in November 2016, Oracle terminated SPARC design after the completion of the M8. Much of the processor core development group in Austin, was dismissed, as were the teams in Santa Clara and Burlington, Massachusetts. SPARC development continues with Fujitsu returning to the role of leading provider of SPARC servers, with a new CPU due in the 2020 time frame.
The SPARC architecture was influenced by the earlier RISC designs, including the RISC I and II from the University of California and the IBM 801. These original RISC designs were minimalist, including as few features or op-codes as possible and aiming to execute instructions at a rate of one instruction per clock cycle; this made them similar to the MIPS architecture in many ways, including the lack of instructions such as multiply or divide. Another feature of SPARC influenced by this early RISC movement is the branch delay slot; the SPARC processor contains as many as 160 general purpose registers. According to the "Oracle SPARC Architecture 2015" specification an "implementation may contain from 72 to 640 general-purpose 64-bit" registers. At any point, only 32 of them are visible to software — 8 are a set of global registers and the other 24 are from the stack of registers; these 24 registers form what is called a register window, at function call/return, this window is moved up and down the register stack.
Each window has 8 local shares 8 registers with each of the adjacent windows. The shared registers are used for passing function parameters and returning values, the local registers are used for retaining local values across function calls; the "Scalable" in SPARC comes from the fact that the SPARC specification allows implementations to scale from embedded processors up through large server processors, all sharing the same core instruction set. One of the architectural parameters that can scale is the number of implemented register windows. Other architectures that include similar register file features include Intel i960, IA-64, AMD 29000; the architecture has gone through several revisions. It gained hardware multiply and divide functionality in Version 8. 64-bit were added to the version 9 SPARC specification published in 1994. In SPARC Version 8, the floating point register file has 16 double-precision registers; each of them can be used as two single-precision registers, providing a total of 32 single precision registers.
An odd-even number pair of double precision registers can be used as a quad-precision register, thus allowing 8 quad precision registers. SPARC Version 9 added 16 more double precision registers, but these additional registers can not be accessed as single precision registers. No SPARC CPU implements quad-precision operations in hardware as of 2004. Tagged add and subtract instructions perform adds and subtracts on values checking that the bottom two bits of both operands are 0 and reporting overflow if they are not; this can be useful in the implementation of the run time for ML, similar languages that might use a tagged integer format. The endianness of the 32-bit SPARC V8 architecture is purely big-endian; the 64-bit SPARC V9 architecture uses big-endian instructions, but can access data in either big-endian or little-endian byte order, chosen either at the application instruction
Sunset Beach is on the North Shore of Oahu in Hawaii and known for big wave surfing during the winter season. The original Hawaiian name for this place is Paumalū, it is a two-mile stretch of beige sand located at 59-104 Kamehameha Highway in Pupukea, 39 miles driving distance from Waikiki. Lifeguards are present. Like many beaches on Oahu's North Shore, Sunset Beach is considered dangerous for inexperienced surfers, due to extensive coral formations near the surface that present the risk of serious injury. Trade winds will be an advantage and a disadvantage, at the same, as the offshore breeze will make paddling for a wave a difficult task. Conditions for swimming change depending on season. Speaking, the water is flat as a lake in the summers and has waves in the winters. All the surfing contests take place in the winter around December and January, that being the time of the largest and best waves for surfing. Swimming conditions change from spot to spot along the beach. There is a place to swim somewhere, except during stormy weather.
Severe erosion of the sand at Sunset occurs during sets of large surf episodes. During December in 2017 following several long lasting episodes with at least 30' to 40' waves for several days, severe sand erosion, which formed a more than 20' cliff along the edge of bicycle trail, closed the beach the week before Christmas; this catastrophic erosion caused the bike path to be rerouted closer to Kamehameha Highway when large concrete portions of the bike path fell off the cliff into the shore break area, forced the lifeguard tower to be relocated more mauka, required the city of Honolulu to demolish and remove the 11-by-11-foot lifeguard storage shed. During large surf in October 2013 and in December 2013 to January 2014, backyards and swimming pools were swept out to sea. Sunset Beach will pump perfect waves with West-to-Northeast swells coming from the North Pacific; the spot is located two miles east of Banzai Pipeline. It was home to the Duke Kahanamoku Invitational surfing competition until 1985.
The Quiksilver Big Wave Invitational in honor of Eddie Aikau started at Sunset Beach in 1984. Today Sunset Beach is home to the prestigious Vans Triple Crown of Surfing, part of the World Cup of Surfing, it holds contests such as the Pipe Masters and a stop on the WSL Championship Tour
George Keyports Brady was an officer in the United States Army who served as the second commander of the Department of Alaska, from September 1, 1870 to September 22, 1870. Brady was born in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania on December 9, 1838, he was the son of Jasper Ewing Brady, a lawyer who served as a Whig member of the U. S. House of Representatives from Pennsylvania, whose uncles included noted Indian fighters Samuel Brady and Hugh Brady. At the outbreak of the Civil War, Brady enlisted as a private in the 12th Pennsylvania Infantry. On July 8, 1861 he accepted a commission as a first lieutenant in the Regular Army's 14th Infantry Regiment, he served in this regiment throughout the war, participating in the battles of Gaines' Mill, Malvern Hill, Second Bull Run, Gettysburg, the Wilderness, Laurel Hill and Weldon Railroad. In the latter battle, he was taken prisoner and held at Libby Prison before being paroled in September 1864. Brady received a promotion to captain on June 10, 1864, received a brevet as major for his gallantry at Weldon Railroad on August 18, 1864.
On March 16, 1865 he was brevetted a lieutenant colonel for his meritorious services during the war. After the conclusion of the war, the 14th Infantry was sent to the west coast, where Brady was posted at Camp McDowell, accompanied by his wife Henrietta Margaret and their baby daughter; the baby died in March 1866. In September 1866, he was transferred to the 23rd Infantry and was posted to Camp Three Forks Owyhee, where he took part in the Snake War, his son, Mifflin Brodhead Brady, was born in Idaho in July 1868. From July 1869 to May 1871, Brady's company was posted at Sitka and Brady served as commander of the Department of Alaska, he served at various posts across the West, including Camp Lowell, Fort Leavenworth, Fort Supply, Fort Union, Fort Mackinac. He was promoted to major in the 18th Infantry in March 1886, was stationed in Denver until May 1889 when he took command of Fort Hays, he was promoted to lieutenant colonel in the 17th Infantry in March 1891 and commanded that regiment at Fort D. A. Russell.

The Nachrichenregiment 14 „Harro Schulze-Boysen“ was a signal regiment-sized unit of the National People's Army Air Forces of the National People's Army of the former East Germany. The primary task of that unit consisted in the signal support to the Air Force Command as well as of the Main Operation Centre, the so-called ZGS LSK/LV. Note: In German language the wording Nachrichtenregiment might be ambiguous or misleading and could be mixed up with intelligence/ signal intelligence. However, this regiment was unequivocal a primary signal unit. In order to avoid misunderstanding and according to NATO terminology signal typical terms will be chosen as far as possible; the NR-14 was established in 1956 as a battalion-sized signal unit in Waldsieversdorf. After interim steps in 1960 this battalion was expanded to become the Signal Regiment 19, a regiment-sized unit. In 1967 the name of honour Harro Schulze-Boysen was dedicated to this particular signal regiment. Subsequent to restructuring in 1970 the unit received the designation Nachrichtenregiment 14, Harro Schulze-Boysen.

Jaydon Mickens is an American football wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League. He played college football at Washington, signed with the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2016. Mickens played college football at Washington, where he appeared in the majority of his career by changing his jersey number from 4 to 1 during his junior and senior years before he qualified for the 2016 NFL Draft, he had good, but unspectacular numbers, leading the team in receptions and receiving yards his junior and senior seasons but never cracking the Top 10 in the conference. Mickens signed with the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2016, he was signed to the practice squad the next day. After spending the entire 2016 season on the practice squad, he signed a reserve/future contract with the Raiders on January 9, 2017, he was waived by the team on September 2, 2017. On September 19, 2017, Mickens was signed to the Jacksonville Jaguars' practice squad.
He was promoted to the active roster on October 21, 2017. In Week 9, against the Cincinnati Bengals, he recorded a 63-yard punt return touchdown in the fourth quarter in a 23-7 win, earning him AFC Special Teams Player of the Week. In Week 14, Mickens had a 72-yard punt return, but was stopped on the one-yard line, which set up a touchdown to give the Jaguars a 14-point lead over the Seahawks, again winning AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors; as a receiver, he had just one reception prior to Week 15, but had four for 61 yards and two second-quarter touchdowns in a playoff-clinching 45-7 win over Houston. On October 15, 2018, Mickens was placed on injured reserve after suffering a fractured ankle in Week 6. On July 24, 2019, Mickens was signed by the Carolina Panthers, he was waived during final roster cuts on August 30, 2019. On December 19, 2019, Mickens was signed to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad, he was promoted to the active roster on December 24, 2019. Untitled is a painting of a black rectangle and a grey rectangle. There is a buildup of thin, translucent layers of differently shaded blacks, which are luminous and warm; the overall effect is strangely ambiguous, neither space nor substance, Mark Rothko himself described them as touching upon the'historical sublime'. Rothko suffered an aortic aneurysm in mid-1968 and during his recuperation he was able only to work on stretched paper; the edges were secured using a gummed tape that left a white margin of bare paper at the edge when it was removed. This led to the first of the'black and grey' paintings that introduced new formal elements: The new paintings were in two parts and below a single dividing line. A division ran right across the image, from one edge to the other like a horizon line; the painted area was framed with a band of white just over a centimetre wide. On, Rothko taped the edges of his canvases before painting, so as to produce the same effect; when asked about the'grey and black' paintings, he said, quite that they were about death.
They are desolate, empty images, but they afford a richly ambiguous visual experience. Their landscape-like qualities, with the black at the top — an Arctic wasteland under a vast and empty sky — is at the same time more deathlike
