Saint George Killing the Dragon
Saint George Killing the Dragon, also known as Saint George and the Dragon is a tempera painting by the Catalan artist Bernat Martorell, painted c. 1434 – c. 1435. It depicts the famous legend of St. George and the Dragon in which the Christian knight, St. George, rescues a princess from a dragon.

Bernat Martorell was the leading painter of Barcelona, in modern-day Spain. He is considered to be the most important artist of the International Gothic style in Catalonia. Martorell painted retable panels and manuscript illuminations, and carved sculptures and also provided designs for embroideries.
