The Shavian alphabet is an alphabet conceived as a way to provide simple, phonetic orthography for the English language to replace the difficulties of conventional spelling. It was posthumously named after Irish playwright Bernard Shaw. Shaw set three main criteria for the new alphabet: it should be at least 40 letters; the Shavian alphabet consists of three types of letters: tall and short. Short letters are vowels and nasals. A tall letter rotated 180° or flipped, with the tall part now extending below the baseline, becomes a deep letter, representing the corresponding voiced consonant; the alphabet is therefore to some extent featural. There are lowercase letters as in the Latin script. All other punctuation and word spacing is similar to conventional orthography; each character in the Shavian Alphabet requires only a single stroke to be written on paper. The writing utensil needs to be lifted up only once when writing each character, thus enabling faster writing. Spelling in Androcles follows the phonemic distinctions of British Received Pronunciation except for explicitly indicating vocalic "r" with the above ligatures.
Most dialectical variations of English pronunciation can be produced from this spelling, but those who do not make certain distinctions in the vowels, find it difficult to produce the canonical spellings spontaneously. For instance, most North American dialects merge /ɑː/ and /ɒ/. Canadian English, as well as many American dialects merge these phonemes with /ɔː/, known as the cot–caught merger. In addition, some American dialects merge /ɛ/ and /ɪ/ before nasal stops. There is no ability to indicate word stress. For instance, convict /ˈkɒnvɪkt/ and convict /kənˈvɪkt/ can be spelled and respectively. Additionally, certain common words are abbreviated as single letters; the words the, of, and, to, for are written with the single letters indicated. Shaw had served from 1926 to 1939 on the BBC's Advisory Committee on Spoken English, which included several exponents of phonetic writing, he knew Henry Sweet, creator of Current Shorthand, although Shaw himself used the shorthand system of Isaac Pitman.
All of his interest in spelling and alphabet reform was made clear in Shaw's will of June 1950, in which provision was made for James Pitman, with a grant in aid from the Public Trustee, to establish a Shaw Alphabet. Following Shaw's death in November 1950, after some legal dispute, the Trustee announced a worldwide competition to design such an alphabet, with the aim of producing a system that would be an economical way of writing and of printing the English language. A contest for the design of the new alphabet was won by four people, including Ronald Kingsley Read. Read was appointed to amalgamate the four designs to produce the new alphabet. Due to the contestation of Shaw's will, the trust charged with developing the new alphabet could afford to publish only one book: a version of Shaw's play Androcles and the Lion, in a bi-alphabetic edition with both conventional and Shavian spellings.. Copies were sent to major libraries in English-speaking countries. Between 1963 and 1965, 8 issues of the journal, Shaw-script, were published by Kingsley Read in Worcester, U.
K. The journal used Shaw's Alphabet, much of the content was submitted by Shaw enthusiasts. In more recent years, there have been several published works of classical literature transliterated into Shavian; the first, released in 2012, was the works of Edgar Allan Poe entitled Poe Meets Shaw: The Shaw Alphabet Edition of Edgar Allan Poe, by Tim Browne. This book had two editions in its original release. One, like Androcles and the Lion, had Shavian side-by-side with the Latin equivalent and the other was a Shavian-only edition; the second, released in 2013, was an edition of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, transcribed into Shavian by Thomas Thurman. This was published as a Shaw only edition with no side-by-side Latin equivalent; the Shavian fonts were designed by Michael Everson. Some disagreement has arisen among the Shavian community in regard to sound–symbol assignments, which have been the topic of frequent arguments; this has concerned the alleged reversal of two pairs of letters. The most frequent disagreement of the letter reversals has been over the Haha–Hung pair.
The most convincing evidence suggesting this reversal is in the names of the letters: The unvoiced letter Haha is deep, while the voiced Hung, which suggests a lower position, is tall. This is assumed to be a clerical error introduced in the rushed printing of the Shavian edition of Androcles and the Lion; this reversal obscures the system of tall letters as voiceless consonants and deep letters as voiced consonants. Proponents of traditional Shavian, have suggested that Kingsley Read may not have intended for this system to be all-encompassing, though it seems that vertical placement alone served this purpose in an earlier version of Sha

Adobe Ultra is a discontinued vector keying application, helping produce blue-screen/green-screen effects for video. Ultra performs complex image analysis to produce high quality chroma-key effects in less than ideal lighting environments. Ultra included virtual set technology, which allows the keying of a subject into an animated virtual 3D environment. Since its discontinuation as a standalone product, the functionalities of Ultra have been incorporated into other Adobe products, namely Adobe Visual Communicator, Adobe Premiere Elements, Adobe Premiere Pro. Ultra was known as Serious Magic Ultra Key, was acquired when Adobe purchased Serious Magic Inc. in 2006. Unlike many of the other applications in the Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Ultra only runs on the Windows operating system. Ultra as a standalone application was distributed with Adobe Creative Suite 3 but noticeably absent from CS4 and CS5. After CS3, the keyer from Ultra was integrated into two other Adobe products – Visual Communicator 3, Premiere Elements.
Adobe Visual Communicator 3 had the full vector keyer control of Ultra built into it, along with some simplified virtual sets. The vector keyer could be activated for live footage, allowing a single computer to key 3 cameras, display different backgrounds for each camera, stream the result out live to the internet using Flash video. Adobe Premiere Elements 7 provided. VideoMerge allowed keying effects to be performed in the editing process, rather than requiring extra steps in an external program or mode; as of Creative Suite 5, a plugin labeled. It is a powerful but simplified keying solution compared to Adobe's flagship and more extensive'Keylight' plugin for Adobe After Effects. Swindon Supermarine Football Club is a semi-professional football club based in South Marston, Wiltshire, England that plays in the Southern League Premier Division South. The club is affiliated to the Wiltshire Football Association; the club plays at The Webbswood Stadium known as Hunts Copse situated close to the Honda plant in Swindon. The club was established in 1992 as a merger between two local clubs in the Hellenic Football League, Supermarine F. C. and Swindon Athletic F. C.. Both clubs had problems with Supermarine finishing bottom of Division One in the 1991–92 season and Swindon Athletic having difficulties meeting the new ground grading requirements, required by the league, at their Swindon Borough Council owned Southbrook Recreation ground. So the two clubs decided to merge and took Swindon Athletic's place in the Hellenic League Premier Division. Supermarine F. C. was set up in 1946 from the social club associated with the Supermarine aircraft company. The club was called Vickers Armstrong and shortened to Vickers FC.
The club played in the Swindon & District league and become founder members of the Wiltshire Football League in 1976, starting in Senior Division 1. The club joined the Hellenic League in Division One for the 1982–83 season, under the name of Supermarine, obtained promotion to the Premier Division following their first campaign, where the club spent the next seven seasons. During their time in the Premier Division, the club won the Wiltshire Senior Cup in the 1985–86 season. After being relegated from the Premier Division in season 1989–90, the club struggled in Division One and at the end of the 1991–92 season, their last before they merged, finished in last place. Swindon Athletic F. C. was known as Penhill until the end of the 1988 -- 89 season. Like Supermarine, they were founder members of the Wiltshire Football League in 1976, but started two divisions lower in Junior Division – Section A; that season saw the club become Wiltshire Junior Cup winners. The next season saw them become Senior Division 2 champions and they went on to become Senior Division 1 champions in the 1982–83 and 1983–84 campaigns.
At the end of the 1984–85 competition they were promoted to the Hellenic Football League Division One and gained promotion at the first attempt when they finished as runners up. They remained in the Premier Division of the Hellenic league until merging with Supermarine at the end of season 1991–92. Between the 1982–83 and 1990-91 seasons the club had some cup success, winning the Wiltshire Senior Cup three times and finishing runners-up on three occasions. In 1997–98 the new club won the Hellenic League championship, but were not promoted due to ground requirements; the championship was won for the second time in 2000–01 and this time they were accepted into the Southern League. After four years of struggle at the foot of the Southern League Western Division table, not helped by a rapid succession of managerial changes, they qualified for the play-offs in 2005–06 but lost to Hemel Hempstead Town in the semi-finals. In 2006–07 they again reached the promotion play-offs, where this time they were successful after beating Burnham in the semi-final and Taunton Town in the final.
This earned them a place in the Southern League Premier Division. That season saw the club secure the Wiltshire Premier Shield, a decade after their first win in the competition, their inaugural season in the Southern League Premier Division saw. They earned a mid-table finish in the following 2008–09 season and had an excellent run in the FA Trophy, reaching the Third Round where they lost to the holders Ebbsfleet United. At the end of the 2009–10 season, the club announced that it was facing a financial shortfall of £50,000, which would affect its immediate position in the Southern League. A supporters consortium took over the club and saved it through various commitments and a sponsorship drive which allowed it to continue in the Southern League Premier Division in the 2010–11 season. Part of the sponsorship drive included the ground sponsorship, taken up by local company H J Webb & Son and the ground became known as the Webbswood Stadium from August 2010. Before the start of the season, former player manager Tom Jones returned to the club as assistant manager.
The 2010–11 season saw them narrowly miss a lucrative FA Cup Third Round tie after a 1-0 defeat at League One side Colchester United in the club's best FA Cup run. In February 2011, Mark Collier, appointed as the club's manager in March 2004, assistant Tom Jones both resigned due to proposed budget cuts with player-managers Gary Horgan and Matt Robinson taking over as temporary managers until the end of the season; the duo guided Marine to a final placing of 10th in the Southern League Premier Division, which remains their best league finish to date. Season 2011–12 kicked off with Horgan and Robinson now as permanent managers but the season did not go well with relegation to Division One South & West confirmed on the last day of the season. In May 2012 the management team stepped down and Highworth Town manager Dave Webb was offered and accepted the manager's position. In his first season in charge, Webb led the team to a 4th place finish and a place in the play-offs where they lost in the semi-final on penalties at Merthyr Town.
The following campaign ended with defeat in the play-offs, once more losing at Merthyr Town at the semi-final stage. After a mid-table finish in the next season, the club reached the play-offs again in 2015–16 only to be beaten in the semi-final one more time, on this occasion losing at Taunton Town. In mid-January 2018, manager Dave Webb departed the club and his assistant, Lee Spalding, took on the role of
The Eurogeul or Euromaasgeul is a channel dug in the North Sea in conjunction with the Port of Rotterdam. It has a depth of 23 meters; the Eurogeul is a so-called deep water route in the Traffic Separation Schemes of the Southern part of the North Sea and the English Channel. Ships with a draft between 14 and 20 meters only need to use the last part of the Eurogeul: the Maasgeul. Ships with a depth of 20 meters or more need to use the entire length of the Eurogeul and will get a pilot on board before entering the Eurogeul; the smaller ships will receive their pilot near the pilot station Maascenter buoy. The Eurogeul allows deep-water sea access to the Port of Rotterdam. At high tide it allows large container-ships and large ore carriers like the MS Berge Stahl or MV Vale Rio de Janeiro to enter Rotterdam; the VLOC Berge Stahl operates a frequent service between Brasil and Rotterdam to supply iron-ore for the German steel industry. The last 14 km of the Eurogeul are called the Maasgeul. Seagoing vessels with a draft of over 20 meters must take the Eurogeul.
Other ships can take the Maasgeul directly. The navigation is regulated. Attendance is about one ship per day; the channel must be maintained. In 2008 the Eurogeul was expanded to an overall width of 600 meters. In February 2012, the Dutch government began widening the Maasgeul to a width of 830 meters to accommodate larger ships; the work will be completed before the summer of 2012, well in time for the opening of the new Maasvlakte, the Maasvlakte 2. The IJgeul, a similar but smaller channel dug some years for the port of Amsterdam
Jerreley Zanian John Slijger, known by his stage name Kempi, is a Dutch rapper of Curaçaoan descent. From 2006 to 2012, Kempi was signed at Dutch label TopNotch, he released four EP's and seven mixtapes to date. In 2008, Kempi was named "Best Hip-Hop Artist" in the Netherlands at the prestigious State Awards. Beside his artistic activities, Kempi is notorious for his extensive criminal record. Kempi was born in Helmond and grew up in Woensel-West, a deprived neighborhood in Eindhoven, as the fourth of seven children; as a teenager he went to a school for children with behavioral problems and started to participate in criminal activities, such as dealing with cocaine and heroin. He built a extensive criminal record, including various prison sentences. Influenced by Tupac Shakur, Lil Wayne, Dutch rapper Duvel, Kempi began to write down his street-life experiences, but wasn't into hip-hop yet. However, after performing in a hip-hop group named Drama, Kempi got encouraged to make his own music, subsequently recorded his own mixtape Tsss Kempi in 2006, downloaded at least forty thousand times from the Internet.
Kempi began to gain national prominence and was noticed by record label owner Kees de Koning, who offered him a contract on his label TopNotch which Kempi signed in jail. When Kempi signed the contract he was under suspicion of complicity in a stabbing. Kempi came out of custody after his second mixtape Rap'N Borie and third mixtape Mixtape 3.1 were released. On July 17, 2007 Kempi met his father for the first time and his girlfriend gave birth to a son, motivating him to try to be a businessman and a father. On September 19, 2008, Kempi's second son was born. Shortly thereafter he was arrested for pointing a gun at Hungarian rapper who provoked him at one of Kempi's concerts. While in prison, his debut album Du Zoon was released by TopNotch. Du Zoon was produced by the Amsterdam production trio SoundG8; the album entered the Album Top 100 in the seventh place, though Kempi stated that prison guards would not let Kempi listen to his own album and that he should borrow it with his own money in the prison library.
Kempi's fourth mixtape was released in Mixtape 3.2: Du Evolutie van'n Nigga. He said that he would only release albums from that moment onwards. For the track "Revolution ", Kempi worked with E. D. I. Mean and Young Noble of the American rap group Outlawz, co-founded by hip-hop legend Tupac Shakur in 1995. On October 6, 2009 Kempi was a support act for American hip-hop star Lil Wayne during his show at the Heineken Music Hall. In 2010 Kempi produced yet another mixtape titled Du Gangsta Tape: It's Official. For the track "The Light", Kempi worked with Layzie Bone of the rap formation Bone Thugs-n-Harmony. On May 15, 2010, Kempi was supposed to open for American rapper 50 Cent's show at Rotterdam Ahoy; this show was cancelled however, due to disappointing ticket sales. In June 2011 Kempi released his second studio album titled Het Testament van Zanian Adamus which entered the Album Top 100 in fifteenth place. On September 7, 2012, Kempi announced that he was going to quit his musical career and wants to live a normal life with his family and stated he would like to follow an education.
Kempi said: "When I see people with a happy family, I get jealous sometimes. Because of the fortune and fame I lost everything, it feels as if I'm stuck in my own dreams now, so I want to live a normal life and get a good education. I made it from being a drugsdealer in the streets of Eindhoven to a famous person in Holland, so I'm pretty sure I can accomplish this goal too; the music and my fans are great. He cancelled the recording for his third album but will release his last work: Mixtape 4: Rap & Glorie. Shortly after this statement, Kempi was sentenced to eight months imprisonment for an ongoing lawsuit of domestic violence, he came out of prison in June 2013. In September 2013, he made his musical comeback announcing his single "Trug Ben"; the same month however, he was sentenced to jail for prostituting a 16-year-old girl. He was released from prison on December 18, 2014. In February 2007, Kempi was found guilty of assault. During the appeal he was sentenced to one month imprisonment. After spending six months in custody, he left prison a free man.
However, in March 2007, Kempi committed another crime, he was involved in an altercation at a nightclub in Veendam, where he threatened another man with a gun. According to a newspaper someone from his rap formation pulled a gun, according to eyewitnesses it was Kempi himself. Kempi attempted to escape. In June 2008, Kempi was sentenced to twelve months imprisonment for a series of serious crimes, including threats with a firearm, it didn't end there, on the 5th of September 2017 he was caught on several videos being pulled out of his girlfriend's apartment for threatening her with a pistol.
