Thaddeus Horatius Caraway was a Democratic Party politician from the US state of Arkansas who represented the state first in the US House of Representatives from 1913 to 1921 and then in the US Senate from 1921 until his death.
His wife, Hattie Wyatt Caraway, who would go on to be the first woman elected to a full term as a United States senator.
The 1926 United States Senate elections were elections for the United States Senate that occurred in the middle of Republican President Calvin Coolidge's second term. The 32 seats of Class 3 were contested in regular elections, and special elections were held to fill vacancies. The Republican majority was reduced by seven seats.
