The Vauxhall Wyvern is a medium-sized family car introduced by Vauxhall in 1948 as a successor to the Vauxhall 12. The name comes from the mythical beast the wyvern, and may be due to a misidentification of the heraldic griffin on the Vauxhall badge.

The wyvern is a type of mythical dragon with two legs, two wings, and often a pointed tail which is said to be a venomous stinger.
Y Ddraig Aur, a flag which was carried by Owain Glyndwr who most notably displayed it at Twt Hill after his successes in reclaiming Welsh territory. The wyvern is based on his privy seal.
